Hey guys, this is the memory I want to buy for my ASUS SK8V motherboard. It's price is down to $365, I've seen it as high as $450. Do you think it will drop by much more?

The Athlon64 FX-51 (boxed w/fan) is down to $748, and the SK8V motherboard is at $213.

I'm getting antsy to buy these last 3 components.

BTW, I've decided on the SK8V over the SK8N. I like the chip set in the SK8V, well actually the person that wrote the review liked the K8T800 vs. the nVidia nforce 3 PRO 150 chip set.

What are your thoughts on the two chip sets?

Thanks for your input. :)

I think I'd have to wait for a long time. I haven't seen any motherboards come out for the new 939socket FX CPU.

Do the motherboard companies just wait until the CPU is available before they start selling "new" motherboards?

Well, my answer lies above. This guy pretty much sums up the 940 socket story, and the need for a 939 socket.

I guess I can leave my money in the bank.........poop. :P

go with the athlon64 3000. you can't beat the price and the boards are pretty cheap considering everything you get with it. you can get athlon 64 with great board (use via k8 series) for under 400 bucks
