I just went and finalized a deal on a 1981 chevy pickup. $100.00 for the truck it has been wrecked and the front end of the truck needs a grill, fender ,hood, headlight assembly, blinker assembly, bumper and fan shroud. The guy said the motor still works and it looks sharp a few chrome pieces and clean. the rest of the truck looks great. Someone sliced the tires so a need for tires is there.the inside is looking good. not alot of work. I have priced the fenders and hood and they will cost around $350.00. bumper is $100.00. :drink:

Actually he was pretty hard up for cash. If you saw the truck you would agree I stole it. The rims are worth atleast $$250.00 and the motor well as I said it is nice. And the cab back is in good shape. I bought a 84 model for $700.00 and straightened a couple of fenders and bondoed a few holes and primered it. Well I have to redo the inside of the cab and the the truck runs and all I have to do is legalize it and it is ready to drive on the road but I still have to paint it and put a new dash in it and seats. So compared to the 84 this truck needs less work.

What's it got for a motor??

Back in July I picked up a 1988 F-250 for $1800, and I thought that was good

probably got a 305 in it right? you should check if the frame got bent in the accident, if it did its probably more trouble than its worth.
post some pics

I finally got the pics back from the 84 model and I will post them soon. I went to put the truck on my trailer but the wide tires ( 60's ) would only allow 1/4 in to spare, well I decided to pull it about 20 miles in the rain with no power steering and no windsheild wipers " whew " talking about adding a new degree of difficulty to the pull lol. When I got it home I was thinking man I have 3 batteries here and it would have been alot easier . The motor purrs like a kitten but the transmission needs to be rebuilt. It started right up and I drove it for a little bit till it got a little warm and shut it down. The frame is perfect and the radiator is shot.I really got a good deal. :wootrock:
