RTP Files

Long story. I tried to use the Need for speed auto-updater to get the latest patch, but all it does is makes internet explorer hang. So i viewed the source html, got on their ftp site, and downloaded a file called NFSU_US_PATCH_3.RTP. is there some kind of special program i need to use to run the patch? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yeah, they said it was an extension for a file used by rtpatch, but they want you to give a whole load of info to dl rtpatch.
