Useless program that's kinda cool to watch and has a great background. Download for free from www.setiathome.com It just runs in the background. Read more on the site. At the moment, I've managed to run it for 644 hours.

it goes through a block of info collected from a radio telescope looking for any alien signals. Then, when it's done, it sends it in, you get yur hous increased and a new block of data. Yes, ET and green aliens with big eyes, but it's kinda neat.

nah, it's kind of cool. the faster your cpu, the more data it can process.
it is kind of competitive...

I stop it running when I play Sam.
It's a cool programme and you never know, it could be
you who finds the first signal from an alien :w00t:
I've had it running for a couple of years now

So when it does find a signal, then who get the credit for discovery of aliens? :P

You are sent a recording of a session. Your PC then decodes this
recording and sends it back to SETI. If they find an alien signal in
your decoded session then you have found the alien :w00t:
