I haven't used either of these cards, but here is a stab:

$94 - GeForce FX 5600 Ultra 128MB from Pricewatch (http://www.pricewatch.com)

$90 - RADEON 9600 Pro 128MB

Here at Digit-Life (http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/over2003/#p22) is a benchmarking of 80-some cards, to give you a ball-park idea of performances of different cards.

"and a bridge! I'll throw in a bridge!"

I have a voodoo2 Canopus, 12 meg beauty, which served me quite well, but I doubt I could get 99 Euros or dollars for it!

get a 9600 pro unless you can find a 9500 pro (which can possibly be made into a 9700 pro with hacked drivers)

the geforce typically have better drivers, but the internal setup of the ati cards make them better for dx9 games for now (ie: half-life 2)

get a 9600PRO, is a nice card.

I am using one. easy to overclock with great result. 500 core and 324 memory(thats 648)
use rivatuner program + ati patch.

More info just ask.

if i was you i would just save up so more cash to by a really good video card, i mean whats the point of buying an okay video card when youll have to buy another one in 3-6 months i personally would put in at least 200+ to buy a really good video card that will play games faster and it will last longer, game wise. but if you really need a video card go with a readon 9600 pro.

Look over some cards, it looks like the 256 meg version of that card isn't much more.
