View Full Version : Using the PC as a server for Sam...

For some reason, we can start a server (for 4) and it shows up on the server list, but when you try to join, it times out players trying to join. Nothing is showing up on the console indicating that someone is attempting to join. I was thinking that if it was the firewall (in XP) that the server wouldn't even show up. Any advice on this problem?

did you remove the windows fire-wall ??

The firewall keeps things from coming in, but allows signals to go out. That's why it can be seen but not entered from outside. If you are using a router you will also have the same problem until you open up port 25600

well if people can see your system, then firewall is not blocking it. now there are some issues with firewalls that cause this. i maybe able to help if you list specs.

sad that our hosting providers cant launch game servers (providers of clan homepages)

or one silly idea - launch game servers trought ftp :P

Thanks everyone, I disabled the firewall and now others can join the game.
