Sounds in avatars and sigs

If you have sounds in your avatars or sigs, please remove them. One of the reasons we got rid of HTML code was because of this annoying feature. Please have them removed by the end of next week because if we keep getting complaints, the admins will start removing them ourselves and replacing it with something from Lev's personal collection.

Ok i don't mean to go against the idea, but PIMPs avatars seem to be the target, just seems unfair, and he's a great guy and put alot of work into these avatars.
Who has been compaling anyway?

It's not meant to be directed at any one person. It's for everyone with it. Unwanted sounds on web pages are some of the most annoying code on the Internet, up there with blinking text and frames. Most of it doesn't even work right when viewing the forums with other browsers (i.e. looping sounds). It's a simple fact of being more annoying than entertaining, so we're asking people to delete it.

I gotta admit.. the first few times I scrolled thru a post and ran over Goober's sig and Blackwolf's avatar I had absolutely no idea WTF I just hit or what was happening.. After I figured it out I thought it was pretty clever and pretty damn funny !! :w00t:
But I can see where the complaints can come from.. One was probably from my wife, wondering why I got sheep in the house at midnite !! :angel:

I need a little direction here Sal..... I can understand the unwanted noises... RE: scrolling over a sig or avatar and without warning getting sheep or wolf noises...I&#39;ve already taken care of blackwolfs howl in his sig and will shortly remove it from his avatar, and I will also remove the sheep noise from goober. My question is... How about a noise that is activated with a button like in my avatar? If you want to view it or hear it, you click it....if you don&#39;t want to hear it, you don&#39;t click it - it&#39;s someones choice. The button is obvious, nothing is hidden.

Talk amongst yourselves and respond please.... and p.s. you could have p.m.&#39;d me regarding this.... I don&#39;t bite :thumbs:

Yes Pimp, if you make them buttons, where you have to click to hear it, that would be ok. Just don&#39;t want any roll over sound. Some don&#39;t use IE and said the sound just plays in a continious loop.
