I was checking out my brothers system and when he runs a server, everything is fine, but when he goes on the net, he is getting a slow connection. If we go to Windows update, it takes 2 minutes to scan for updates, then it takes forever to download files. I sent him a 4.8 mb apache video file (of the war in Iraq) and it took him 12 minutes to download. It's been taking everyone else, (with high speed) about 15 seconds so something in his OS or connection is slowing him down. Any ideas, is there anything we can run and check to see if somthing is using up his bandwidth?
I have already ran SpyBot, and Adware pro, Norton System Works system doctor utilities, and I can't find anything. I did notice that he had a lot of processes running under Ctr-ALt Delete. That is the next thing I plan to do is begin eliminating some of that stuff to see if it helps.
