I don't think LIIT posted that link to offend anyone. We all have a different sense of humor and he was trying to share something he found funny with the rest of us.

My message to LIIT and anyone else, don't take it personally! If you found some humor in it, enjoy it, if you were offended, then an Admin has locked the thread and disabled the link. I hope that has settled it. Ease up folks. He wasn't trying to attack or offend anyone here.

And I don't think it's worthy of being warned. Maybe in the future, he will exercise a little more caution and make a determination as to the possible offensiveness of his next postings.

thats true and in this games you even fight against germans (well against dumb naziīs but theyīre still germans)

so i personally think if the Americans react like this on a FUN Flash video (with no bad ideas in mind) well how should the Germans react on such video games like wolfenstein or other games where your mission is to kill guys with a german flag on their uniform

its all ABOUT FUN! :drink:

First it is a Nazi flag, not a "German" flag. Germans as a general rule don't accept that as a German flag. Don't believe me, ask a German.

Second, no German has ever complained about discussions or pictures or whatever about any game where Nazis are involved. So if they had a problem about it they didn't voice it, so your point there is irrevalent. If they DID voice it I know it would be respected.

What is relevant is that an American tragedy that is mocked pissed off Americans. Instead of showing compassion or sympathy (or even an ounce of foresight) to Americans you question our sense of humor. Wonderfully tasteless.

well then i gotta ask myself...

i didnīt say anything about that this is the actual german flag theyīre wearing on their uniform...but it was a german flag from 1933 till 1945 (well i dunno how it is in america but in germany it is forbidden to involve the swastika flag in videogames or to paint it...)
so if german soliders wear in a US version of a game for example a swastika flag on their uniform it will be replaced in the german version with another texture (mostly with the actual german flag)

Second, no German has ever complained about discussions or pictures or whatever about any game where Nazis are involved.
why the hell should they?!

its past! you cant change it! it just happened!

well what happened on 11. september 2001 was very sad... i cried also as i saw these pictures on TV...
but if there was more security stuff on the airport where the airplanes lifted up the accident caused by taliban terrorists could be prevented i think => so iīd say that the americans arenīt totally innocent to that what happened

how tasteless is it if your misson is to kill germans in a video game?!

no doubt that those germans had no brain...
so its on the other side totally justified to kill them in video games...

BUT my question then is...
Why there arent any video games where your character is an American Indian and your mission is to kill the american colonists?! (i think every american knows alot of the bloody history of their country)

Everything is just my opinion...
(im telling you my opinion cuz i got teached at school that america is the land of freedom + independent and free thinking)

i also love the americans and i admire their community...
but sometimes i think the americans overreact if they get mocked in this way...

There is no such thing as perfect security, and any terrorist group that wants to try something will succeed sooner or later. To suggest that America is partially to blame for the attacks is so ludicrous as to defy all logical thinking. NOTHING is totally preventable 100% of the time. And don't call it an "accident" either, it was a purposeful meditated attack.

The fact that it cannot be changed doesn't affect how people here feel about it, and they told you how they feel about it, yet you think it is an over reaction...

yeah, for some strange reason we feel like we have o be the "world police" just because we have the most powerful armed forces in the world doesn't mean we should give a crap about people who wont fight for themselves.

It pisses me off that we send more people after Saddam than Bin Ladden, after all, who killed more Americans before this war? We killed saddam's familly, yet we helped Ladden's familly leave the USA :WTF:

personally, we should've kicked the crap out of Bin ladden and the countries that supported him and let Iraq deal with their dictator.
