Ok guys I'm getting bored only a few of u people from clans play now. Its really boring when there aren't any good people playing lol :P. Now one question Who here still plays ssse?

nobody. the good people have left. the people that remain are the
spammers, campers and pup whores. i wind up being forced to play
that way to get anywhere. add to that ongoing lag issues, and the
game is pretty much no more fun, and winning is often more
painful than just leaving the game.

I know that Sam is fading from view and alot of GM members have moved on to other things, but really, nearly every game I play in has at least a couple of clans represented. I'd have to also say that the Reapers are always out and about in Sam.
But I would have to agree with you in that on occasion...there are times that there is nobody playing. It's to be expected though. Sam is a few years old now...and theres no new content. I can live with the bugs in the code but some find it intolerable.
After 10pm here on the west coast of America, Sam peeters out.
During the weekends it picks up a bit and people play later but most have moved on to new and different games.

Oh....and to answer your question.

I've been in those nasty games...nasty enough to make me leave at times. It's always been like that though.
But there is still fun in weaving your way though the spam to give a backstab or a shot in the @ss. :devil:

I agree with Jiminator, there are too many puphores in the game to make it a challenge as it takes the fun out of playing.

People who persist in camping and spamming are annoying. I, however play sam all the time and i have yet to play an online game that comes close to to it's exellence.

You will always find me in the servers.......for now anyway.

ah, the key word here being *were*... don't know what it is, lag, sucky
connections, etc, but my playing is very streaky, either ok, or suxxors.
i think i am going to have to convince the wife to shift to cable next month....
should be interesting since it would be internet service from one cable
company and tv from another cable company. I bet they will want to cut the
others line... so I don't look forward to dealing with that.

People leaving games is not uncommon anymore. you used to see it a lot with
noobs, but now it seems like lots of skilled people will make early exits because
of playing styles.

Serious Sam now instead of becoming a game i gardly play, its the ONLY game I play now.

I personally don&#39;t see the problem with using power-ups. People who are unaware of your unwritten pup rules are likely to be turned off when you blast them for (unwittingly) using one of rhe features that Croteam designed into the game.

Same with spamming and camping. Newbies that give SSSE a try are probably turned off pretty quick after being blasted for crossing an invisible line.

I personally think it&#39;s time to can this whole elitism thing..

Just my humble opinion.

I just started playing some again myself. I still love this game. If they are new to the game I think it is fine for them to use them. I know when I started it was discouraging to get whooped on all the time.

Now for those that have been playing a while it is different. I don&#39;t use them and don&#39;t think people that have played a while should be using them. But I don&#39;t really care either way. It is just a game and as long as it is fun to play I&#39;ll be playing.

Part of the reason I and others have quit playing was because of people trying to tell other people how to have fun with their &#036;20 investment. Half the time peeps lose is because they are too busy reading what was said and responding to it. Ignor that crap and play YOUR game. I hate to get killed by a bunch of spammed grenades just as much as you all. It&#39;s always been a part of the game since day 1 of even SS FE days when most of you where not even around, So deal with it and stop complaining&#33;

Oh to answer the original thread question, Yes some do still play, but I don&#39;t anymore ....... but you never know when Sho might show up with a double shotty. shuriken

actually 8&#036; investment :P or 10&#036; for gold. but what happens to the people that are goina get a perfect and it gets ruined by red or sumin they can avoid spam bu skill but how do they avvoid that i can see where your going sometimes i just cant let it go though soetimes i can depends how they use it i use pups sometimes 1 a game or somin. It is a part of the game but its too much like a cheat :(

It might be a good idea to disclose any special rules in the server name. Like No Power Ups, No Campers, Hardcore Only, etc.

BTW, SSSE is free after rebate at CompUSA right now... :)

In addition to putting the rules down on your server it is also a good idea to have them written down on your website (assuming you have one). People need to know in advance what they can and can&#39;t do in your server. Otherwise they end up doing something they see as alright (say camping), and you are blasting them for being a camper. They are gonna have difficulty understanding. So yes as Skeet said, rules must be specified somewhere.

Response to initial post: That is one of the reasons why SSC just got started. People seem to be losing intrest all together in Serious Sam. But with so many other clans still alive and well, and the fact that Serious Sam 2 is coming out later this year, this game will still have a nice long life to live.

I used to play SSSE every night, and host from time to time. But I guess you could call me a pup whore. I got tired of the hurt feelings and whining when someone used a pup, which incidentally, Croteam actually designed into the game.

Back in the day, I saw a lot of noobs come and go. Possibly because nobody told them about the unwritten rules, but bitched them out when they crossed the invisible line.

I still play from time to time, but I&#39;m mainly into UT2003 now. Have yet to hear my first whine about spammers, campers, pup whores, etc.

I think if you guys want online SSSE all to yourselves, you are just about there.
