SS:SE vs UT 2003

I really wan tto know what everyone thinks dont make this a flame thread either just want opinions :thumbs:

I'm not sure the two are comparable to be honest....once you get into UT2k3/2k4 you find they are far deeper than you might expect...I cant vouch for Sam multiplayer, i thought it sucked. Loved single player though, where as UT2kx single player....whats the point?

ive played both and well sam has an okay multiplayer the only problem is they dont have any team killing or capture the flag or anything like that, unlike ut2003 and 2004. my vote went to ut2003 and 2004.

let me break it down for you, this is a serious sam/ daoc forum with 1 UT clan here


go to God&#39;s forum that is now BF 1942 forum

Post this at Prounreal and see the results.

The funny thing is both are great games, but one left it&#39;s followers swinging in the breeze, the other just keeps growing.

You can check servers for the DEMO of UT 2004 ( one map only per version) at any time and find more players than SSSE playing all game types and maps.

In the time I&#39;ve been at GM, not 1 released patch for SSSE, that wasn&#39;t Beta. UT 2003 had 3 patches and 5 or more exspansion pacs and in 3 weeks, a whole new version. As far as comparing, you can&#39;t.

UT all the way. I will admin that SS deathmatch is fast and furious fun, it can&#39;t compare with the rich, creamy goodness that is UT2K3/4.

Boost dodges, double jumps, boost jumps, awesome weapons....(even though I wish I had a knife every now and then... ;) )

The support that UT has and the mods/maps/mutators....almost like a different game everytime you play.

Sam just can&#39;t hang.

UT is the best out there, all the different types of mods and stuff, you never get tired of it. Sam...get a better net code, then we&#39;ll talk.

Incredible Graphics
Awesome gameplay
Awesome multiplayer maps
Has a killer "feel"

I consider the fact that there is very few Sam players a major bonus. I like to go into games where I know the people that I&#39;m playing. Sure, Unreal 2003 is probably the best Multiplayer FPS game ever. But I voted for Sam for the camraderie between us Sam players, and the fact that it costs 75% less than Unreal.

I bought UT2k3, and played it for about two weeks. Another game I feel like I just wasted my hard earned money on. Haven&#39;t played it for the last 9 months or so and it resides on my shelf with the other games I don&#39;t care to play.

Played a few games of Sam the last couple of weeks and it is still my favorite FPS. I&#39;d play it more but DAOC won&#39;t let me.
