i reinstalled all XP and got 3 viruses... blast, welchia and novarg

used symantec av removal to remove them. i removed novarg and welchia, but not blaster

When i am entering registry (regedit), its working fine till i am trying to remove blaster regkey...it immediatly exits regeditor. I tried to patch windows with update (removal gives link to it), but when i try to install patch, it exits, too!!!

Now removal dont see blaster, but its still active...damn

tried to change some settings what i found at symantec.com, but nothig HELPS!!
this pisses me off. Iam using newest removal.

have you deactivated system restore?
or have you tried to remove the Blaster worm in save mode?

yeah i turned off sys restore and worked in safe mode too

i did:
disconnected from internet
removed teekids.exe from /windows/sytem32
removed another teekids file there too

that didnt helped. theb i did:
backed up user account and files
downloaded XP recovery and backed up all registry to original without OS reinstalling or loosing files
installed "SpySites" to deny computer to download spyware
installed "Spybot" to find spyware after completting registry backup
and only then reinstalled all drivers
launched removals and no viruses found...
Optimized system speed, internet connection, RAM etc

Now is all working fine and fast

that took me all this day :bandhead:

Isn't CMEsys part of the vile, evil Gator crapwagon suite of....well, crap? The first program I put on after installing XP, or 98SE before, is Norton AV.
