Big SP 1a problems

Alright,
I installed SP 1a (updated version of service pack 1 i guess) and everything was fine until I noticed that my Norton Firewall doesnt work anymore! It is disabled and I cant enable it. I had to use ZoneAlarm for backup. Also, MSN Messenger does not leg me log on either.
Thuis is in 5 mins so there might be more problems. Please help me out on how I cna fix these problems. Thanks

what is it that u updated? By the sounds of it, you got a trojan or some other kind of virus....wait, do you have a firewall? I know a while back, for some reason it disabled the ability for chat programs to connect to their servers. just a suggestion.

i have to virii or trojans on this comp, but like you said, is didnt let me use chat progs, and im behind software and hardware firewalls so maybe that's why it caused problems
I uninstalled it, and my comp is faster and stable

well, congrats on being a beta tester.
unfortunately you did not realise it.
part of the beta testing thing is to report on bugs like you found,
and also to be able to ghost their machines for the next beta,
as might find that it is hard to remove, or that later versions
do not clean up the prior versions...
