If your house caught on fire, and you could only take one material thing with you outside to safety, what would you take(family and pets do not count)?



I would probably take either my laptop(because it is the most expensive thing I own) or my old, faded White Sox hat that I always wear.

My photo albums. Funny you mention this, because this is something I think about whenever I go through my pictures. I have two large cardboard boxes of pictures from my baby pictures to my kids current pictures. You have no idea how devistated I would be if I lost those. Completely irreplaceable items.

Cool thread, 9.9. I'm with Sepra - my photo albums definitely. I've actually given this some thought in the past, and i've been slowly scanning all my man-loved pics to my comp and hosting them off-site. I'll probably do the same with my Will. [chuckle]

Of course, I'd ride said albums out on my racing bicycle; at $5000 of carbon fiber goodness (DIE BRAGGART DIE!) it's worth more than most cars. In fact, it's so valuable i don't let myself ride it anywhere. And while i don't always let it have the bed (those grease stains on my matress are a real bitch to get out), I do occasionally walk it slowly around the block....
