I have fried two Gainward GF3 Ti 500's in the last six months. Thank God for warranty service.
Incidentally both cards have fried on the same IC and on the same pin. Coincidence? Methinks not.
Darrin (aka The Machine), seems to thinks my MB (Shuttle AK37GT/R) isn't supplying the AGP slot with enough voltage consequently forcing the card to draw more current for it's power. Hence it getting too hot. Seems logical if two cards fry in the exact same place.
I sent the 2nd bad card back to Gainward this past weekend. Fairly painless procedure.
If anyone has a comment please post me a note.
