new sound

I just bought Creative Inspire 5.1 5100 speakers
and a sound blaster 5.1 live

when i start windows and here the windows sound all 5 speakers work
but when i watch a movie, listen to music, or play games
only 2 work ;)

Dont understand it...

Is it set to 5.1 in the software? Also not all games are in surround sound. and I dont think that any game will utilize the center channel.

it's set to 1. in windows too!

Do you know if Sam supports 5.1 sound?

I'm not awayre of any game supporting 5.1 yet. A lot of them are just in surropund which would be 4.1.

Well only 2 speakers work!

I have 4.1 too, and only the front 2 work
same goes for bone

does sam support 4.1???

i think EAX is 5.1,,,, there are like 4 things you have to click to get the 5.1 to work right,, check in the mixer, the volume control in control panel,, I had no sound on XP then I got the new drivers from cret,,,, needless to say I will not be buying another soundblaster,,,, the clock on it is way off and a one year warrenty,,,,, to much hype for the card,,,,, gonna find a 6.1 mobo for next system.......... down with the man!!!!! :)
