Rotorura is not too far away from Whakatane where i am living at the mo so you were pretty close. :D

NZ is great, really enjoying being here just now. I have just bought my first house so i should be moving in shortly with my missus. :P

Only bummer is the internet out here. I should have no trouble getting ADSL but the maximum speed here is 2 MB and the upload speed is limited to 128kbp. :down:

I think i will be in for some laggy games at Sam when i get up and running but hey, Sam was always laggy. Weather has been pretty good too, just going into spring time out here and also looking forward to a hot summer.

Although I have it loaded up and ready to go....I haven't yet had the time to sit down and get going. I played the first level and that was it. I plan to get roasty later tonight and take some quality time getting reaquainted with Sam.
So far...it seems like Sam...but I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing...just kinda snooping around a little village with little blue people...had a few guys shooting at me killed them and jumped into a stone monkey head. ....Then I jumped on a dinosaur that shot fireballs and rode him around killing a few more critters then got to another village by a river....looking around inside a hut, I found some TNT...went to go figure what to do with it and promptly dropped a few grenades into the hut by accident...which promptly blew my @ss up. Once I get a better flavor of the game...I'll be able to relate a better feeling for the game...till then...from what I've seen...I'm hopefully optomistic.:D

that sucks! I figure in a month I can get a used copy at my local game shop since the initial reaction for the game has been poor at best.

By then, they should have released the DM MP patch and fixed the netcode :D at least they renamed the f9

Minimum ping i can get is about 80 in game. All the servers that i used to play in the UK had pings of 40 or below. Any servers on all the games in UT2004 are way over 200 ping. NZ internet sucks, so everyone has said. :down:

If you can, get cable internet. I was with a company called Telewest and they had some really good deals. You can get 10MB internet for only £35 a month.
