I've played Death Engineer a few times over the past few months.
He pops in and out of the games.

At the end of the game he always laughs at the crap lag that I guess we are all used to.

Yes yes....of course I know where the "new" forums are.

And I think I'll take a moment to say thanks to all the people that made it possible. You know who you are....THANKS!!!

Ok...so here's my take on things. After playing UT2k3, it's really hard to come back to serious sam. The delay from when you hit a button until the response on the screen is almost unbearable. But that's nothing compared to what happens (it happened at least 3 times today) when about 8 people get in a server. While my ping is extremely low (<200), the lag is unbelievable. It's pretty much just spawn...run for a gun....hope you don't explode inbetween the frame updates....then fire away at anything that looks like it might move. That is no fun to me since it requires very little skill, thought and tactics. However, the one thing that sam has that UT doesn't (at least for me) is a family type community.

I'm glad to be able to say hey to people in the game that I haven't talked to in months. I hardly ever recognize anyone in UT and people rarely talk back unless they are talking smack. I also like to be able to say 'good shot' or 'nice one' to people without getting a "F U" response.

I never really know when I'm going to get the urge to play, but when I read today's interview with bones, I really got fired up to play again. And those of you that played will confirm that I held my own for somewhat of a comeback veteran newb.

You can be sure that I will give the game another once over once the patch is out (again....if ever). Feel free to look for me on AIM (SSDeathEngineer) or MSN (games0802@hotmail.com). Take care and see ya online.

Hey DE! I admire your patience (and bravery? ). Now that I have 1942, there's no way I'd load up SS without a working patch. Notice that I said "working" and not "new". Last I heard, the 1.5 patch didn't get any love. I'm out! Peace!

No it's not great but there are some improvements. It will however get there soon.

BTW I have tried Battlefield 1942 and I love it man. I will however find sometime to play it when I get back.

Good to see you Mr. Bones.
