We left Seriously! forums because the atmosphere was a bit oppressive. Admittedly we are a high spirited bunch, and I guess it got to be a little much for them. So a few good people took it upon themselves to build us a new home. They put a lot of their own time and money into making GameMecca. Tada! Problem solved. Or is it?

Just because we have more freedom here, that doesn't mean it's an anarchy. It is not, nor should it be. The members here have a responsibilty to use some restraint concerning what they post. A few here though seem to think that the forums are their own personal toilet. That sucks for the rest of us. And I'm sure that new people coming here are rather put off by it all. That sucks too.

Case in point: The HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! thread. Holy crap! I'm really against deleting threads. I think the threads here are what make up our history, good or bad. But Phoenix and Death Maker managed to fill a rather long thread with some of the most vulgar and completely unacceptable garbage that I have seen here in a long time. Congrats guys. :rolleyes:

We are in the process of deciding where we want GM to go and what we want it to be. A lot of exciting things are happening. But none of it is going to happen if this crap isn't stopped. We need to draw up some guidelines for forum behavior. It's too bad it has to come to this, but it is obviously necessary.

I'm not trying to suggest we turn GM into a police state. Just keep the stuff that is not fit for general viewing in the private forums - please! And try to refrain from posting more than 500 posts within an hour's time. :blink:

I agree. Something like that is what I was talking about. Something that is not very restrictive, but that will help prevent some of the more extreme stuff that happens around here from time to time.

While I admit you have helped a lot of people here BIGGD01, I don&#39;t necessarily agree with a lot of your opinions. I really don&#39;t care that much about aliases, or name changing, or Phoenix pulling a fast one. Actually it all kind of amuses me. :D

And I don&#39;t hate Phoenix. Dispite what I have posted I actually like him. My main concerns are that the public forum threads don&#39;t get too raunchy, and the the extreme cases of spamming are somewhat controlled. Not to mention the hateful attacks on people. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. :)

Sirc, I may not think the world of you,,,, but this one time you are right,,,, it is an absolute shame that the younger members can not restrain themselves,,,, I do not like the idea of policeing the forums,,,,,, maybe a post limit cap, of 50 post a week would be best,,,, and do away with post counts on members, so no one is trying to be the spammer of the day or year,, back when I was young all I cared about was chics and partys,,,, well mostly partys, since chics can be a pain and are always around, chics are alot easier to find than a good party...... :)
