Which is better PC2100 or PC2700 DDR memory?
And which one came out first?

PC2100 came out first and PC2700 is better/faster.

If my test pc2700 performs about 30% better.

You're funny............................................. .................................................. .........................................sort of.
OK, more questions.
My 2 gig P4 says it has a 400mhz System Bus and my ASUS P4B533 Mobo says it supports 533mhz....and like you said (or someone else, I've lost track) my 512mb of DDR 2700 is 333mhz..........what does all that mean?
Be nice.......................'cause Santa knows when you're being bad..........................and he'll kick your ass!

They are the all clockspeeds.
The 400mhz & 533mhz are the clock speeds of the FSB (Front Side Bus) (http://computers.cnet.com/hardware/0-1018-8-20548580-4.html?tag=st.co.1018-8-20548580-1.dir.1018-8-20548580-4) that your processor uses.
PC2700 DDR (Double Data Rate) is rated at 333mhz. Actually it runs at 166mhz, But because it doubles the data transport rate between memory and CPU it's said to run at 333mhz.
Now what is http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung/weihnachten/weihnachten033.gif gonna bring me? :)

What will Santa bring you?
How 'bout I send you these lovely stickers for the side of your PC case?
I used the two larger ones on mine. B)

That sounds cool.
Did you ever see the picture of Machine's PC?
He painted flames on his.
There was a picture posted on the Seriously site.
He did an excellent job........I remember him saying he'd never do it again, 'cause it took so long.

I'm nat that familiar with Intel systems like Behind you is, but a lot of the Intel systems do nit use DDR they use Rambus memory. We need to determine which you have b4 you order some.

Looks like your board will only do up to P4 2.2 and PC2100 without some overclocking to get the extra benift from PC2700.

Thanks everybody..........including NOBODY......LOL.
I'm happy with what I've got now......I just wanted to have a better understanding of it's capabilities....and why all of the Mhz numbers were different.

:D
Guess I could have explained it a litte better.Intel uses what they call quad pumping. Kind of like double data rate only 4 times. So your board at various settings
533mhz divided by 4 (quad rate) gives you an actual 133 mhz bus which is the PC2100 memory (133 x 2 = 266 DDR)
or
400mhz divided by 4 (QR) gives you 100mhz bus which is the 1600 memory (100 x 2 = 200 DDR)
That still may not be very clear but I am not an intel guy or very good at explaining :D
