How about for someone who isn't a Trek fan? My wife and I like watching Enterprise on UPN now but we never saw any of the older movies or shows.

No I mean that the only Trek I have ever watched is Enterprise. Never seen a show or movie with Pickard (or however you spell it).

Hmm. I'm hearing wildly conflicting reports on this baby. [bites nails] Alas, we won't get it for another month.

I figure it can't be worse than Insurrection - which, while not a bad movie per se, was little more than an extended episode, and thus a cinematic disappointment. [forlorn]

You don't have to know any background info at all to know what is going on.

I'm a big trekkie, but for all the old stuff. The last Star Trek movie I saw was the 2nd or 3rd one after "Star Trek: The Adventure"... shows how out of time I am!!!

Gosh, there have to be more Star Trek movies than....errr...say Rockie movies.

There was Start Trek I through V with Kirk and crew (The even numbered ones were pretty good.)
There were the previous two with Piccard and crew from The Next Generation (still have problems with Data's singing!!! )
And now the third with Piccard.

I have to see them, It's tratition. Like in the middle of Star Trek IV The Journey Home, my buddy says, "This isn't going to be a save the whales movie, is it?" I cracked up.
