Well i turned the new PC on i got into the bios fine...i messed around with the Softmenu 3...it said that the PC was running at 1.9GHz when it was to be at 2.53...i upped the speed, saved and exited and it shut off on me. i turn it on, No beeps, nothing on screen, nothing...the fans power on and everything...i'm using the intel stock heatsink now and when i checked, the temp was at 42C at 1.9GHz...how do i clear the CMOS on the ABit IT7-MAX2 v2? Can anyone else help? I don't know if it saved and exited but all i know is that i went to save and exit and it shut off.

Myabe you have to change the jumper settings. had to do that on this comp so it would be 1.74 ghz not 1.3

pull the Cmos battery and try again.
That may help.

There should be a jumper on the board to clear the CMOS. removing the battery will not always do it unless you leave it out for a while.

I'm not that familiar with Intel systems, but with AMD you basically have to ell it what speed RAM you are using so it knows what CPU multiplier to use. If you just increased the RAM speed and used the same multiplier then you probably oveclocked the CPU too high and need to reset the cmos with the jumper.

Crism check your manual and see if there is a jumper setting to clear it.
If not leave the battery off for about an hour or so.
Also unplud the thing and push the power button to get any juice out.

Where is your hard drive? I see a DVD ROM as a Primary master and a burner as a Secondary master?

Just hit F1 at that error.

I'm not familiar with Intel products either.
Crism the instructions to clear your CMOS is in Chapter 2 page 5 of your manual or at least that's the page in the .pdf version I downloaded for your mobo. Once you have done that I would select the "Load Failsafe Defaults" options, Then select the "exit saving changes" (F10) and then let it re-boot and see what happens. At least you will be back to a clean slate again and then you can back adjustments like your RAID settings, Memory, etc ........

i fixed that problem now i have another one (geez holy crap OMG wtf screw me)

XP Won't Let Me Install The RAID drivers

I think the floppy cable is in the wrong way...the light stays on constantly when the RAID driver disk is in or out...in XP it says to press F6 to install the drivers...i press F6 and nothing happens...it goes to the install screen, i press enter and it says that there are no drives installed...can anyone help?

If the light is staying on then your floppy cable is on backwards.

Here is what I was told once.
The red line on the cable should always face the PS.
