The Dpi is what is important. The highter the better.
See if you can find one with something more

I've tried to find you a professional review/comparison of all in ones, but all I can find is these reviews done by users who own the model you mentioned. LINK (http://www.epinions.com/S0624793-HP_Printer_Scanner_Copier_750xi/display_~reviews) & LINK (http://shopping.yahoo.com/shop?d=zmfp&id=1990739824)
Reviewfinder.com is a good site to find reviews of products, But the site is down right now. :(

May not be worth much...but I have had very good luck with HP products of any sort (except pc's) they are very much the leader in printing solutions for the home and business. We use them at the office also, and they do a great job. DPI is the important thing for sure, speed isn't that much of an issue. Unless you are running order forms off by the thousands for people to get some of that porn you are trying to back up :P

Porn? What's that?
OK, it's down to three models.
Lexmark's X85 for $179.00
Epson's CX3200 for $149.00
or Epson's CX5200 for $199.00
I'm going to read some reviews on them and decide. :)

Oops, my bad....I had to go back and edit that post...the X85 is a Lexmark brand printer.
I still have an old LaserJet 4ML that I have used the heck out of. I'll bet its at least 8 years old, maybe older. It still runs like a champ. No problems ever. HP printers rock. B)

Ditto
I just got the hp printer/scanner/copier 2110 all-in-one and I love it. Although Tom's Hardware ragged on it a bit(expensive cartridges yada yada).
I had a hp deskjet for 5 yrs. and it finally started taking a dive. Now it prints only if its in a good mood. :P
I've never had a scanner before so now I'm a scannin' fool!!!

That's a good one Dan, I looked at it today.
But if I recall, it cost more than what I wanted to spend. :)

I am running the Lexmark X83, predecessor to the X85 model you listed. Have been very happy so far with all functions and if it matters to you don't forget that the X80's as an all in one series of printers have fax capability too.

I've always liked HP printers, and have had three at home, and many, many at work. They make a good, solid product, and support is usually very straight-forward; easy to find and use drivers (for the most part) and very good cutomser service for returns and the like. They send you out a return mailer, often. And, when the 1100 lasers were found to 'glaze' after about a year, they sent out kits to solve the problem. But, EPSON gets high marks for image quality, especially in the Photo Printer category. I can't speak for their reliability, as the only Epson I've owned was a low-end dot matrix. I don't know if they have an Photo Quality all-in-ones.

Thanks Death Dude.....I debated about buying a HP printer....so far everyone here says that's what they prefer.
However, I just couldn't help myself when I saw the high resolution that Epson was delivering (5760X1440).
I printed a photo lastnight and it looked awsome.....and it wasn't even on photo paper!
I am a happy camper! :D
