I remember Earthbound but never played it. It came out in 1995 and I bought Chrono Trigger over it and I stand by my choice. :P

The owner was a really nice guy. Years ago when he was in his late teens/early twenties he killed someone in a robbery and was sent to prison. He escaped about 10 or 15 years later, assumed a new identity and ended up in Dayton. He got a job managing this little mom and pop video store, and then eventually earned enough money to buy the store. The dude worked 12 hours a day every day except Sundays when he only worked 8 hours. He ran the place for several years and was a well liked person in the community we lived in. We rented movies and games from him almost every week for about 2 years.

Then he ended up on the FBI's most wanted TV show. He saw it and turned himself in. Now he's back in prison so he can be rehabilitated.

When he gets out he won't have a job and because of his age he will have a hell of a time getting one. He won't have any savings to retire on. And there is an excellent chance he'll have to turn back to a life of crime to survive. Justice has been done.

Yeah, it's a shame he had to go back to jail. It's just not fair, even though the person he killed doesn't have a chance to earn enough money to buy a store of their own, or work hard 12 hours a day to make some money for retirement, much less a job or any kind. Nope, their just filling a hole about 6 feet below the top of the soil.

It's idiotic you feel that way. He's a murderer, and then escapes when, had he stayed in and done his time, he'd probably be out now. I don't feel sorry for that P.O.S. Justice will be done when he serves his debt to society.

Earthbound? Is that where Ness from Super Smash Brothers Melee originates from?
