I think it repisents what our guys are fighting for in afganistan, I never saw any pics of bodies from WTC, this will show the horror of what did happen, so when the body bags come back home from iraq, afganistan, iran, and any of the other countrys we can blame, we can say this is what they are fighting to stop, I think the artist is very bold to do this, yes it is shocking,,,,, but 100 people jumping from the 100th floor is shocking to,,, the liberals want you to forget that people jumped, and that bush is a warmonger...IMHO

Okay, I'm gonna make a long comment about this. First, I cannot imagine why anyone would jump 80 stories down. Yes, I know I wasn't there, blah blah blah, but fire can be put out, gravity cannot. Falling at that distance and hitting concrete is equivalent to standing in a road and having an 18-wheeler smack you going about 86 MPH....you ain't gonna survive. Second, there are some artists out there you like to shock people, and do it under the cover of "art". They don't have any message or hidden agenda, they just want to see how many people they can piss off. The clown who did this sculpture is one of those.

Let me ask this: There are some school districts that don't allow certain classic novels or the Pledge of Allegiance because they may OFFEND just one person, yet when "art" is displayed like this piece that the vast majority of people find offensive, people scream freedom of speech. Why the double standard????

I don't think that scuplture should be displayed anywhere, it would just mean a show of support for the "artist".

Sorry to get serious on y'all, but sometimes you gotta make a statement.

I would imagine that people wouldn't jump if they thought they could survive. I'm sure they probably waited until the last possible moment to do so. Given the option of burning to death, which would seem like an eternity while your flesh is cooking off your bone, or doing a superman... I must say that I can't blame people for jumping. At that hieght, the pain at impact would not last but a fraction of a second. Another insight into why some fell also, would be the same effect as the windows themselves giving out; The sheer force of the heat most certainly could have launched some of the people out of the building without their consent.

I think the soldiers know what they're fighting for without having a gruesome statue to remind them. They saw the footage of the tragedy on the news...just like every American did. We know what happened. While the artist I'm sure didn't mean any offense by the statue, you have to think of the victims and their families. But isn't it wonderful that the artist has the right to make the statue? That's freedom. That's what those soldiers of ours are fighting for.

:? Well....I can see how this is well...offensive. But...I believe that people should be able to create whatever they want, and express themselves however they want. This...well..might be offensive, but free speech is free speech. Amen.

I'm all for the Freedom of Speech, But that statue is very poor taste IMO.
It amazes me what some people will do for money or prestige or whatever possessed this person to do this statue.
I don't need statues and such to remind me of 9/11, The images of that day still burn vividly in my mind now and always will!

The point was not whether that piece of crap "art" is covered under freedom of speech. Of course it is. The point is that it wasn't done to express any form of speech, it was done for shock. And if people don't think it belongs there, it should be removed.
