A small glossary to the world of anime (in random order) shuriken
Anime: short for japanimation, japanese animated movies
Otaku: fanatic fan (of anime)
Manga: originally means 'forbidden images' , term to refer to the 'book' form of anime (a paperback volume with b/w pictures)
Shonen: 'boy', term to refer to anime/manga for boys...usually a genre filled with action and fighting
Shojo: 'girl', term to refer to anime/mange for girls...usually a genre of romantic love stories
Bishonen: 'beautiful/gorgeous boy', idolatry of beautiful boys/anime characters
Bishojo: 'beautiful/gorgeous girl', idolatry of beautiful girls/anime characters
Aļ: Love
Yaoi: 'love between boys'
Yuri: 'love between girls'
Dojinshi: manga made and published by fans
Shi-tajiki: 'pencil board', a small piece of plastic (usually rectangular) with images on both sides from an anime series...originally intended to provide an even surface so that you can write easier (you place it under your paper so that you have an even surface)
Fanfics: fictional stories written by fans , usually featuring existing anime characters
Fansubs: subtitled versions of japanime, subtitles have been made by the fans themselves. Fansubs are supposed to be distributed for free (trading of fansubs)
Cell: manually drawn and handpainted celluloid (the right sequence of those will provide movement, general movie principle), also valuable collector's item
Hentaļ: 'sexually obsessed', a swear word (like saying pervert!)
also term to refer to anime porn (gives the other anime a bad name)

-lemon: very soft with sexual innuendo and suggestiveness
-ecchi: soft porn
-hentaļ: extreme hardcore perversions
