You might could increase your up speed if you would run the Tweak test at DSLReports and follow their advice after you run it.
They will prob'ly suggest using DrTCP to adjust some settings. Mine went from 220 to 365 up by using it.

That test is way off. It lists my download as 2MB but every other test I have ever taken is 1.2 on a good day. Also, I'm capped at 1.5. Sorry to disappoint you.

Isn&#39;t it possible to effectively exceed your max speed because of data compression? Won&#39;t a text file download faster than say, a jpg file?

could have something to do with your ping to that test server. I would think the better ping, that possibly the better speeds you get, and less likely for packet loss. Also, if you are a ways away from the server, it could take different routes to get there, that could be a difference in bandwidth readings right there.

Just something to think about, as well as traffic too. ;)
