Calgary is a damn good team and it will be tough to beat them, but they've only won 2 games so far. They still need to win 2 more. The Avs getting ready to be swept on the other hand is hilarious.

Yeah!!! :w00t:
Cargary wins with only one line (Iginla line) and the hottest goalie in NHL (Kiprusoff)!! The bunch of old farts with 4 "All-Star lines" (and Boyd Devereaux as a healthy scratch  ) can't beat Calgary!!

And Calgary are missing Chris Simon, Steven Reinprecht, Dean McAmmond, Toni Lydman and Denis Gauthier...

Way to go Flames!!! :wootrock: :wootrock: :wootrock: :drink:

What did you think of the cheap shot on Joseph at the end of the game by Nieminen? I think that should be a 2-3 game suspension with the way they protect goalies nowadays.

04-30-2004, 01:46 PM
Explain something to me. I got up from the game and went to the kitchen to get a drink and a bag of chips and salsa. The score when I got up was Wings 2-0. I come back in say about 2 minutes, the the score is 2-2. I am just glad they actually took the game last night.

No way. ;) It was an accident... :oooo: :drink:

You can't be serious. Look at the replay. Nobody was around him and he stuck his elbow out to hit Joseph in the head. Even the way the ref grabbed him to protect him and escorted him off you knew it was intent to injure.

-"I don't know what happened there."

Well even if he isn't suspended, I think he made a huge mistake because that woke Detroit up. They now have a reason to hate the Flames and when they hate a team, they play their best.

Some players will never win it. Can't explain why, but it just seems to be the way it goes.

He played great last night, especially considering that Calgary actually outshot the Wings (although the Wings had more quality chances IMO).

The Wings looked...a little old last night. I wonder if the news guys are right, that we were witnessing the end of one hell of a run.....

I'm a bit surprised!! :w00t: I never thought Calgary could win the Stanley Cup.

But now I'm pretty sure they will win it!! :wootrock: Again they played very damn well. :w00t: :jammin: Their defense is damn good, they're able to keep Tampa's stars away from the net. And Kiprusoff is the final lock. ;)

So, I really hope that the Stanley Cup travels to Canada this year! :woohoo:

Damn Tampa played ugly game. They got a goal after 2 mins of playing (5 on 3 powerplay), and after that they just kept throwing the puck to the neutral zone.

Yeah. :bandhead:

Well, my opinion is that Nieminen shouldn't have been banned. That hit was a terrible accident, he never meant to hurt Vinny. Vinny just turned his back at Nieminen, and the rest is history... :(

Indeed. :w00t: Calgary earned the victory last night. :jammin: They were better than Tampa, they had more scoring chances, more shots...

Damn I hope Donovan is OK, he had to leave the game due to some kind of injury. :( He played a great game, he made few awesome dekes, he skated like h*ll and he did a lot of work. :jammin: I think he would be pretty important player for Calgary in Game 6. :shifty:

Holy Crap what a friggin awesome game, and I'm not just saying that because I live in Tampa and they are my team.

Just a kickin game.

Congrats Tampa!!! Stanley is gonna get his tan!!

And congrats to Calgary too, it was one hell of a game. I really wasn't sure what was gonna happen right up to the end.

Very dissapointed, I wanted to see the cup go back to Canada. Especially with a lock out coming up, or player strike. I just hope hockey cleans up their act.

Congratulations to Tampa, they sure did earn the cup, no doubt about it.

Casanova

Damn. :(

I guess Tampa was a bit better this year. :( They had two awesome scoring lines, Calgary only one.
But who knows, maybe the Cup would have gone to Calgary, if they hadn't had so many injuries. Reinprecht, McAmmond, Lombardi... They're all important players for Calgary. And also Donovan, who played very good playoffs, was out of the last two games. :bandhead: :bawling:
Tampa on the other hand had no significant injuries (Lukovich missed few games, no big deal).

Better luck next year!! :wootrock:
