The teams:
2003 Champion Redmen = Dan2's dad's brother-in-law
Fenderbenders = Dan2's dad
Gasngo = Dan2
Meankeys Motor Sports = Fragetti
RCS Racing = Shogun

Before 11:59 pm est Thursday night you have to pick 6 drivers (2 A list drivers, 4 B list drivers & 2 C list drivers) total to compose your team for this week's race. Before the race starts you have to activate 4 drivers (1 A list driver, 2 B list drivers & 1 C list driver) from the 6 drivers you chose earlier in the week. If you see a driver that has a red NE in the notes section it means he isn't entered for this week's race so don't pick him. You can activate (see Starts column) a driver only 9 times during the season so you can't always just pick the favorites.

Qual. Bonus:
Bonus points are awarded to each of the drivers with the four best starting positions after qualifying. The top qualifier receives 10 bonus points, the second receives five, the third receives three and the fourth receives one. Because qualifying for Daytona 500 is broken up over two days, these bonus points will not be awarded for the Daytona 500.

Laps Bonus:
An additional 10 bonus points are awarded to each driver who leads at least one lap during a race. The driver leading the most laps during a race will also earn another 10 bonus points. To earn these bonus points for your fantasy team, a driver must be on your team and active during the race.

Scores:
The final score for each week is posted sometime monday after Nascar has announced that the race results have become official.

What the points mean, If you get:
300+ You had an excellent day
250+ Very Good
200+ Average
150+ You must have hit the wall a few times.
100+ What were you thinking choosing John Andretti

The season started off with 3 veteran teams 2003 Champion Redmen, Fenderbenders and Gasngo and 2 rookie teams Meankeys Motor Sports and RCS Racing. While the vets performed as expected the first few weeks the rookies made several mistakes and fell behind in points but quickly learned and have come back to the pack to make the points close. 9 weeks into the season and the point spread was 34 points from top to bottom, That's really tight.

Goin into week 10 Fenderbenders made a statement that he was going to have a good week and he did with 336 points and combined with lastweek's win he moved from last place to first place. WTG Fenders!!!

Meankeys Motor Sports (MMS) and RCS Racing didn't get their picks in on time Thursday night and were stuck with the same drivers from lastweek. Stupid rookies! :bandhead:

RCS racing got real lucky and ended up with 307 points moving from 3rd to 2nd.

MMS ended up with 203 points and dropped from 2nd to 5th. MMS had a talk with his crewchief about picking some new drivers because he is picking the same one each week and is about to run out on the number of times he can select them, Anyways MMS has assured us his team will return to form this week. Go get 'em Frag.

Teams Gasngo (3rd) and 2003 CR (4th) were unchanged and held their positions this week.

I've NEVER cared for Tony Stewart and after the crap he pulled lastweek I was really pissed at him, So as the command to start engines was given the thing that ran thru my mind was "Who or how many was the bastard going to take out today?"

That SOB has got to be the dirtiest driver there is today and it sucks that the FOX announcers, Nascar and Home Depot stand behind him.

Screw it, Hello Lowes if I need something :P WTG Rusty Wallace for telling it like it is about him on TV, U da man!!! I even had to go to Nascar.com and watch him tell him off again.

Hey Dan I just found some interesting stuff, Everyone of these links to different recent articles LINK (http://www.nascar.com/news/headlines/newswire/tstewart00/index.html) has to do with him and his troubles. When the article titles contain words like Criticized, Trouble and Warning well son you have a problem. Tony needs to wake up and realize it's him that has the problem and not other drivers.

Are you gonna get Fenders and 2003 RC registered here?

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his team are on a roll this year and the ball didn’t stop this week as he won the Chevy American Revolution 400 from Richmond. This week’s fantasy league favorite Ryan Newman looked to be the strongest horse in the field qualifying on the front row and being super fast in all three pre-race practices but ended up fading to a 9th place finish.

Tony Stewart’s problems continued on this week, as if I’m surprised. During the race he seemed to be more patient (especially around Michael Waltrip) and thought maybe he was finally coming around, but he tangled with Jeff Gordon in the closing laps of the race and the drama continued.

Gordon commented after the race "We're seeing it every weekend, and you'd think a guy getting abuse by the media and the drivers would start thinking a little bit more," Gordon said. "He had a much faster car, fresher tires, got inside of me, and the position was his and he just drove straight into me and put me in the wall about put himself in the wall."

Tony explained his actions in a post race interview “We got a little loose and I got into Jeff, and I'm sure Darrell and those guys up there (in the booth) are lobbying for me to get suspended for life from NASCAR," Stewart said. "But that's the only incident we had all night.”

The complete Gordon/Stewart story can be seen here:
http://www.nascar.com/2004/news/headlines/...rdon/index.html (http://www.nascar.com/2004/news/headlines/cup/05/16/tstewart_jgordon/index.html)

Also during pre-race interviews Fox interviewed Tony Stewart with Fox announcer Darrell Waltrip (DW) listing in from the booth. DW made the comment that so many times this year Tony had been involved in or caused numerous accidents and labeling him the “Common denominator”. Tony fired back at him with “That if it hadn’t been for Nascar’s past champion provisional DW wouldn’t have been able to race in the last two years of his career.” After round 1, I have this match scored a draw. Stay tuned folks, it’s getting good! :w00t:

Ok enough of the drama and on to this weeks Fantasy results,

Well folks I’ll take my crow with some gravy on the side. Congratulations MMS on being this week’s high point team. It appears that rumors of Meankeys Motor Sports demise may have been a little premature. Using a strange strategy of not choosing any new drivers each week for four weeks in row seems to have worked because MMS jumped from last place into 3rd place with 291 points this week including 31 bonus points. Just goes to prove that even a stopped clock is correct 2 times a day. We will see what happens this week though as some of MMS’s drivers are now 9/9 and can’t be used and activated again. Hopefully MMS will find the “keys” again to the race shop this week and get back to business or you can go ahead and ship the rookie title over to RCS Racing.

RCS Racing took a different approach this week and decided to use drivers that they had not used yet this year; all 0/9 picks so they could save other drivers for later on in the year. The strategy netted them 251 points including 15 bonus points keeping them in 2nd place. RCS’s crew chief Knuck L. Head commented they were pleased with the results and they actually closed in on the league’s leader Fenderbenders, narrowing the gap from 19 points down to only 5. The only bad part was knowing that if one of their B list drivers Jeff Burton, would not have spun while going for the lead and getting 5 points for leading, the two teams would be tied.

Fenderbenders came in third this week with 237 points but held on to the league’s top position with a point total of 2807. Fenders was also one of the ones in the Ryan Newman camp with his A list selection this week. One of the team’s B list drivers, Mark Martin looked to be a mid pack selection in pre race testing but proved to be a great selection for Fenders netting him a hefty 78 points. Fenders ended up with 25 bonus points, 2nd only to MMS’s 31 points.

2k3CR held on to its 4th place position this week with 211 points also riding the Newman/Martin combo. 2k3CR had high hopes on its C list selection Casey Mears starting the race from the 9 hole but finished a disappointing 32nd. It could have been worst; you could have activated your other choice Dave Blaney which finished even further back in 40th place.

Gasngo started out the week in 3rd place and was looking for a great week 11 with a team lineup that included the likes of Rusty Wallace, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne and Dave Blaney. This selection had worked before for Gasngo but sadly let him down this time out. All efforts to get a post race comment from Gasngo about this weeks disappointing 129 points were unsuccessful. Rumor has it that he was last seen chasing Dave Blaney around out in the parking lot with a baseball bat. Just kidding ya bro. I know you will pull it together this week. :D

Next week the tour moves on to the Lowe's Motor Speedway for the running of the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge.

Hey Guys, (Gals?),
Well I finally made it to your cockamamie website. (Nice job though!) Are you ready for the 600? Are you ready for beer and chips for the first 150, then a short nap, then take out the garbage, mow the lawn, do a little shopping, and return for the last 50 when the race really begins? Oh hum another boring race I'm afraid. When is Nascar going to wake up and do like they did when it all started..........
I suggest; 42 entries only. After the time trials assignment to the heats, i.e. 1,4,7,10 etc, 2,5,8,11 etc, 3,6,9,12 etc. Then three 20 lap heats of 14 cars each. The top 8 of each heat qualify for the main event. The remaining 18 race a 20 lap semi-final for the next six slots. The twelve cars remaining race a 20 lap consolation for the last 2 slots. That leaves 30 starters for a 250 lap race. Starting positions to be determined by qualifying runs, except for the two from the consy who'll start 29th and 30th.
Now the distances run in each race will be determined by the length of the track, (i.e. the longer the distance, the lesser the number of laps and vice versa.) The whole deal shouldn't be longer than 3 - 3 1/2 hours. (Qualifying the day before.)Plenty of time between races for interviews, bathroom pit stops, and beer replacement.
Advantages;
1. Excitement all the way through.
2. Elimination of back markers.
3. Reduction of "The Big One" multi-car crashes
4. Reduction of total pit stops

Any comments?
Wake me up Sunday around the 500th lap.

First off let me say Welcome to Gamemecca Fenders!

Interesting concept. :hmmm: I'll agree, 600 miles is a long race and sometimes boring but it's tradition and Lord knows they have screwed with enough Nascar traditions this year what with the locations that are losing dates to newer locations and the new points race which i'm not too thrilled about.

Kinda disappointed that Ford's new engine package isn't quite what I had hoped it would be. From what i've read, So far it only gives 12hp on the top end of the RPM range and nothing on the bottom end. Mark ran great with it in the Challange up until his engine broke a valve spring late in the race. This week both Roush and Yates teams have pulled the package from their cars and the only team running it will be Rick Rudd driving for the Wood's bros. team. I'm sure in time it will they will get it worked out but damn i'm getting tired of the Fords sucking hind tit on the horsepower tracks. :bandhead:

2 #1 John Andretti Chevrolet Snap-On Tools 179.366

Wow 2K3CR what a week you had with a whopping 362 points! :wootrock:
Congratulations man, that breaks the previous record of 356 points held by Gasngo.

2K3CR moved up from 4th to 1st with 362 points.
Fenderbenders dropped from 1st to 2nd with 264.
RCS Racing dropped from 2nd to 3rd with 259 points
MMS dropped from 3rd to 4th with 238 points.
Gasngo held on to 5th with 256 points.

Wow for the first time is a while, Tony didn’t even as much as lay a fender on anyone!

During the race I’m able to listen in on the scanner communication between Mark Martin and his crew. Mark hit something on the track and a tire came apart causing him to have to pit early. There sure were some nervous peeps in the pits and one in S’port, La. as well. Then all of a sudden Johnny Sauter spun bringing out the yellow flag and Mark got back on same pit sequence as the rest of the field, his first words were “Whew I need some Gatorade!”

I guess you could say I went from agony to ecstasy and back to agony during the race. At the half way point my combination of Jimmy Johnson, Elliott Sadler and Mark Martin where running 1st, 2nd and 3rd and looked to be running the fastest lap times. I started counting my chickens then all of a sudden one of them bastids hatched and out popped the ugly duckling when Mark hollered “It died, It died!” The MSD ignition boxes failed. The first one just popped the fuses and when he switched to the backup box it burned the wiring out in it. They installed a third one with no fuses, Luckily it lasted the rest of the race but they sure where stumped as to what happened. My boy Mark was sure disgusted about having to run laps that were as fast as the leaders and yet being 13 laps down. :bandhead:

Anyways next week we are off to “The Monster Mile” in Dover!!! :wootrock:

Fenderbender- Those are great ideas for the hardcore race fans but I think it wouild be too confusing for the casual fan. Nextel/Nascar wants to expand the fan base to newcomers. I think the new "playoff format" will be the only radical change we will see for quite some time.
BTW- Another advantage (for the networks) for your idea would be more commercials. :bandhead:
I miss the ESPN coverage of Nascar when you could actually watch 30 laps IN A ROW without a word from our sponsers.

Congrats to the Redmen for an incredible, record breaking week!!! :jammin:

My man Mark ended his 2 year drought to win the MBNA 400 @ Dover!

They haven't posted the points for this week yet but it looks like we all pretty much sucked what with so many cars behind the wall and laps down. Goes to show that winning isn't all skill, there is some luck involved.

I did something this week that I can't believe I did and that was to pick the driver I dislike the most, Tony Stewart. Lets see .... I pick Tony and Mark wins ..... Hmmm I might have to do that more often. :D

Waited 2 long years to see this! :jammin:

The Dover race was unusual to say the least what with Nascar’s confusion over starting positions and penalties after yellow flags. Seems like whenever they have restarts with the leaders mired back in the pack due to unusual situations like when the yellow flag was displayed like it did Sunday, it usually causes a multi-car accident. This time it involved 19 cars including some of the race’s early leaders. Not sure what the answer is to this problem but they need a better way because have a bunch of young guns with their "Alpha Male Meters" pegged on 10 stuck back behind a bunch of also rans is asking for major trouble in my opinion.

Did it make the ending of the race suck? Heck no, Not in my opinion and I only had 1 driver on the lead lap like many of you. Am I just saying that because my favorite driver won? Maybe, maybe not. To those that say it sucked, I ask you 2 questions. (1) If you would’ve been lucky enought to have ended up with a 300 point week, would you still feel the same? (2) If your favorite driver would have won, Would you still feel the same? It's ok, you can bail out and use my answer of Maybe, maybe not if you want to.

Did the best car win? Maybe, maybe not. It seems like Lady Luck chooses to smile on some and yet frown on others. After being frowned on so many times in the past, this time she happened to pick Mark Martin to smile upon as Martin held off Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the win. Mark’s team gave him a strong car and he ran upfront the whole race so it wasn’t all luck or maybe you could say he didn’t have the bad luck that some others had. Either way Martin earned this win and was overdue to have some good fortune swing his way. Look for more of the same now that they have the monkey off their backs!

Well points wise we all pretty much stunk it up this week, I just happened to stink the least of the bunch. All I can say and it pisses me to no end to say this but he made the high points team this week, Thank you Tony Stewart!

Fenders vaulted into 1st place from 2nd place with 251 points.
RCS Racing moved up from 3rd into 2nd with 256 points.
2k3CR fell from 1st to 3rd with 212 points.
MMS stayed in 4th with 218 points.
Gasngo held on to 5th with 226 points

My team this week consisted of Tony Stewart, Elliot Sadler, Kasey Kahne and Ken Schrader. Only Schrader was a back marker (as if that’s something new), the others were strong contenders for the win but Lady Luck pissed in my cornflakes ….. Again. I ended up with a mediocre 256 points. :bandhead:

Frag ol’ buddy you need to fire some folks at your MMS shop, You ended up with the same drivers from last week and if Mark Martin hadn’t been one of them you would have a really crappy week. Goes to prove that even a stopped clock is exactly correct 2 times a day. So I give you the “Lucky dog” award this week because he pulled your butt out of the fire :D Frag how long are you going to continue to “CARRY” Joe Nemechek as one of your C list drivers? Did you know that you have had him selected for all 13 weeks of the season and he stopped helping you 4 weeks ago? You might want to stop by the race shop on Weds. to make your picks bud. Just my 2 cents. ;)

Crossing boundaries:
My buddy Chico and I went to lunch today down at Harrah’s Casino. We were sitting they stuffing our guts on all you could eat crawfish, chicken, bbq, etc … Buuuuurp oh excuse me but it sure was good and sorry y’all weren’t there. Anyways the hostess which happen to be a 40ish Oriental woman noticed that I had on my Mark Martin hat, Came over to the table and made the comment that she was also a Mark Martin fan and she was so thrilled that he won yesterday. Wow now if that doesn’t prove that Nascar is bigtime now, I don’t know what does. :wootrock:

Next week the tour moves to you guy’s neck of the woods, Pocono!!! :D

Great week Fenders & 2k3CR but really everyone had a good week! Normally 268 points would be decent but kind of pales next to the results of you four this week. Sucks to be the low man on the totem pole. To borrow a line from Arnold, “I’ll be back!”

I haven’t bothered to add them up, if i’m not mistaken this is our highest weekly points total as a group. It’s a real shame that Mark Martin fell out on lap 112 with motor troubles … again. :bandhead: I’m pretty sure if that wouldn’t have happened we all would have been in the 300s. That would have been awesome!!! :wootrock:

1st Fenders 3675
2nd 2k3CR 3651 (-24)
3rd RCS 3585 (-90)
4th MMS 3490 (-185)
5th Gasngo 3435 (-240)

The Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth incident was pretty amusing for fans but looks like Nascar isn’t laughing

Good luck back at cha Fragster because i'm really gonna need it, My 2 A list drivers which are T.Stewart & M. Kenseth, suck this week. The rat bastids haven't even been in the top 10 in any of the practices. Pffff they even qualified 27th & 18th respectively :bandhead:

I'm gonna pull a Babe Ruth this week and call my shot ... The driver that I predict to be this week's winner last won 131 races ago when he beat the late Dale Earnhardt at Pocono Raceway. Since then, he's finished second eight times, including last week's runner-up finish to Jeff Gordon at Pocono. He qualified 8th, was quickest in the 2nd practice session and 2nd quickest in Happy Hour. This week's winner will be Jeremy Mayfield!
