OMG! guys benchmark fell! HELP!

Guys, ravenous thinks it is the fact I reset my bios. If this is the case, can you please let me know? I have tried everything and my system is ****ty now! please help!

Man, that seems serious. Well, if you reset your BIOS, first step for me would be to look through it thoroughly to see if there is something changed that you didn't want changed. PnP OS? CPU speeds, FSB? Take your time and be patient, but you'd have to think that there is something there to restore it's performance. Anyway, let's hope it's that.

i know nothing about bios. thats my problem!

I'm not familiar with that board, but generally, on the main BIOS page, there may be an option to "set optimized" or something similiar. Do that. After that, check for any "cache" option being disabled and enable it. Do not enable any "snoop" options.

I agree with BY, and look over the pages Shogun left for you. When you reset, it will generally revert to the basest, most stable generic settings. Make sure the cache is enabled on the processor, PnP OS is enabled, AGP is at 4X (I assume that is the top multiplier on that board, haven't looked at it. ). Most of the items are common sense, so look it over, page by page, and if you see something that seems like it should be turned on and isn't, give it a go. Don't change too many things at once, in case you mess it up, and want to go back, you'll know what it was.

Check to see if it set your fsb back to 100MHz instead of 133MHz.

thats the nforce1 board am i correct?

when booting up the system just hold down the delete key and it will bring you into the bios. over look all of your settings and change as needed. take my advice as posted in the nforce2 thread and disable all thats not needed.

p.s. that system wouldnt happen to be a compaq is it? just want to know?

I think most AMD boards default to 100MHz fsb if you reset the CMOS.
