IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

Yeah that would be cool but most people have to get to work and stuff so they would just fill up the day before and defeat the purpose. They do need to find an alternative to gas then we can tell the middle east to go to H---!!

Well what I am doing is to cut the trips to the dump which is 9 miles each time, down from 3 times weekly to 1 time. Making sure that the necessaties are here so no need to go to the store for just bread 12 miles each trip. and so forth. My gas bill averaged around $100.00 a week and I have it down to around $50.00.

I got a 2002 Ford focus this year. Much better gas mileage than I got with my 88 Tempo. ( about 26 mpg now).

Costs me about $20 to fill and lasts a week and a half. The rise in price really doesn't effect me at all. Although it does raise the cost of just about everything anyone buys retail. Granted some people need bigger cars for families or business. But for all those single people that bought SUV's to be in style, I am glad they have to pay more. That is what they get for blocking my view with their big monstrosities.
:P

i think 80% tax on fuel and we have to roadtax to drive and there is another 33% additional tax on the purchase of a car plus 19% vat
So if you buy a car with factory price 5000 euro it will cost >> 8925 in the store.

Btw i have edited the gallon price calculated the wrong way dollar/euro :P

Not really a question of taxes. One thing is that the US should build new refineries or at least renew their refineries instead of just buying it in europe and then ship it over. They need more and more gas every year. And we are the ones who have to pay for it.
There are many other reasons like the dollar getting stronger these days ( the raw price is still calculated in $ :bandhead: ) etc.

No, it is your tax system primarily. Russia figured out that Socialist policies didn't work maybe the European Union will one day too... ;)
