Without Using the Internet to look for information, lets play a game. Guess how many Iraqi civilians have died in Iraq since the "war on terror" began.

I'd say about 10,000, most after the US invasion.

Burn the Witch

do the numbers really matter
its INDIVIDUALS that are dying
how about u find a list of everyone's name that died
then again who will care, its just another name
no point in this, people die as we speak, where's your sympathy towards them?

TheMaster
05-18-2004, 01:12 AM
I have deep sympathy for every life taken in this war EXEcution. It is sad that so many people are being killed on a daily basis. :(

I'm glad you feel that way.
It would be nice for the US troops to just leave, the war is turning into another Vietnam, and its just that we don't want to lose.
Its sad that we are always at war no matter how many advancements we've made over the years. :(

TheMaster

Exactly. You understand the situation clearly.

Many of the names of the individuals are known, I can see from your comments you are definitely a classical liberal in ideology, thats no bad thing in my book.

Let me add another question to this post.
How many civilian deaths were there in Iraq (let's say during the 12months)before the U.S. Invasion?

In answer to the original question, I would guess 2000+

when making a political post, yur bound to tick someone off. I kinda like them though (was a little afraid to post in them after the one I made...lol  ) but they make it known that there are others thinking about them. I'd have to say maybe 5,000 post war and thousands when Sadam was still in power. but this is a simple guess, more than likely wrong

I'll play, Twitch, and I will not voice an opinion being that one was not requested in this topic... :shifty: ;)

2675 is my guess.

we kust keep sending in troop and they just keep dying, also the country of Iraq is pretty "segregated" just like Vietnam is/was (still communist) there are those who are glad that the American's came to "help" and there are those that protest and fight us.

Amusing thread.

There are hundreds of people dying every damn day in Rwanda (did you know that???) and no one notices. The great and mighty U.N. ignores what is going on there. And some of you liberals want to make the US the bad guy? The number of civilian deaths per day in Iraq, as Goober so eloquently asked it, is no doubt lower than when Saddam was still in power.

This isn't close to another Vietnam, which was already discussed in another thread.

There are probably as many car accident deaths in this country everyday as there are civilians killed in Iraq....

Well, according to reports, the death total just exceeded 11,000.

Elessar

guess my estimate of 12000 was right on track then.
it is a shame, but the toll is much less then it was during the gulf war.
or any modern full scale war for that matter

Question: How much politics are allowed on this board?
Cos i know a lot about US military. I was working with them, 4 years.
I know the practics a.s.o.

Btw, we will NEVER know how many civil losses this costs (censorship)

TheMaster

I'd rather not know the actual numbers.

No, I am making the point that I always find it interesting what particular group of fatalities people like to get up in arms about...
