Well to those who care or noticed I havent been on lately because we lost the internet. My mom lost her job which means we cant keep the DSL, still thinking if I should sacrifice my allowance for the internet and pay for myself.


I guess thats the only option. bleh 56k :bandhead:

Sorry about the bad news. I hope you are able to get off that 56k soon. Have you checked in to any local providers for dsl? A lot of times local companies will be a lot cheaper then the big names like MSN or Earthlink. Also maybe you can get the lower end dsl like idsl or something, it wouldn't be as fast but would be better then dial up.

Another thing, what phone company do you use?

You said DSL is $80 ?? Are you sure that isn't DSL + your regular phone charges?
Since you live in California, you can get DSL for $35-39 or so.

Also, there's a little trick if you have your own line,
you're a student, so you should be able to get universal lifeline, which qualifies if your low income (or a student), which will SERIOUSLY reduce your phone charges per month. (by as much as $30 or more).

With my $39/month adsl + universal lifeline, I get an average of $51/month total for my phone service, + about $10/month for my long distance international plans.

Be sure to check out that universal lifeline. I KNOW you qualify since your mom lost her job, and since you're a student. Doesn't cost anything to call them about it.

I guess the company was charging us $39 just for another line. and like another 30 a month for the DSL.


Right now Im still now sure to sacrifice my own money just for the internet.

I dont have internet yet. and actually I live in Colorado. :shifty:

well its happenin, I got the internet to work again, but with a lower speed. I must say that it REALLY sux. I wish i could get a job of my own, :wacko:


but at least its better than notin.
