Description
ParseSam is a log parser that extracts information from the SeriousSam.log file and displays it in a more user-friendly format.
Features
The program will give as many statistics as are availble given the log information (which is rather limited). This includes, frags by weapon type and suicides.
Using this information, it is easy to see who the "cannon whore" or the "rocket monkey" was that was spewing more explosive power than Jiminator after an enchilada.
Options
Using the "-addlog" flag after the .exe will append all the data found in the current serioussam.log to a new one. This is useful for collecting aggregate information over several games (since the real log is cleared after each match).
I also built a version of the parser that just extracts the comments (chat) players made during the game. It will be attached to the following post.
Setup Instructions
The first time you run the program, you will be required to enter the full path to the location of the serioussam.log file. If you don't know the full path, try doing a Start->Search->For Files and Folders and search for serioussam.log. If you're still lost, this tool is not likely something you should use. ;)
To use the -addlog flag, simple create a batch file (new text file with a .bat extension) with the follow text:
parsesam.exe -addlog
Place this file in the same directory with your exe and use it to start the parser.
Feel free to post bugs/suggestions here. But realize this is something I do for fun in my spare time. However, for the right price, I'll listen to anyone moan and complain. :shifty:
