Tracing Crap On My Comp

Hey, I was using the computer that is located at my girlfriend's house. I clicked on favorites and found like 75 porn links. Her dad is furious. My girlfriend has 2 sister, and each has a boyfriend. He's sure that one of them did it, but we can't figure out how to trace what would have added these links, and about when they were added...I know i can get rid of whatever it is using Spybot/Adaware, but is there a way to trace the time of install/what caused install. He doesn't want to be a jerk to his daughters if it was a pop up, but if there was a legit porn viewing, he wants to know. PLZ help.

Additionally, my g/f's dad would like to stop this from happening again. He said that he used to use an internet security package, but that it was too secure, he could never do anything - it was all blocked. Is there a program that will stop crap like this from being accessible, but not be so excessive that every page w/ the word "sex" is blocked, etc...?

well, I see when u do a spybot S&D, It tells you the bot and (take the Avenue A, Inc bot for example) the cookie its in. Maybe if you find this cookie, it can tell you a date and time it was created on?

Actually, I asked about tracing, then did my research. I found a BUNCH of porn links in the history, so I'm sure that's where the dirty favorites came from. Spybot turned up nothing, so I've gotta think it's the sites.

The question about the securities software is still pertinent. He's very concerned about keeping his daughters from seeing any of this stuff (one is only 13). Hopefully there is a free solution, but he's very willing to pay the price to protect his daughters from this, so if there's no free suggestions, offer up others, please.

sort by the dates and look for your porn files / dates times

for the rest... good luck.
