The last one went over well. I do this fairly often (They've been on hiatus recently) for another forum.

Many of your favorite chain-hydrocarbons are named after the number of carbon atoms in them.
An example is octane, a favorite of those who drive vehicles... ;)
Octane contains eight carbon atoms. These molecules bond together in a regular pattern. If you need to remember the formula for propane or ethane, it's
n carbon atoms and 2n+2 hydrogen atoms.
So as you King of the Hill fans know, propane is C3H8. Now you can find the formula for butane, so you can make sladerous posters for your neighborhood.
The boiling point also rises as you add more atoms to the chain.
