it's ok but if you want quality, you are going to have to pay for it. it all depends what your plans for the pc are.

i posted a deal last week which had the hyperx for 119.00 but it has expired.

what exactly are you trying to do?
a) to overclock your system?
b) to buy memory that will not be obsolete in your next system?

a) if your cpu can be overclocked, it will not work with your existing memory

b) all current memory is really obsolete. newer systems coming out later this year will be based on ddr2 which is the same speed but requires less voltage and should scale upwards better than ddr

I once read an article that mention geil. nothing stuck out about them.
they did however like the kingston hyperx memory.

so what type of cpu do you have, how much current memory and what type of upgrade are you looking for. if you have 512 MB, then memory
probably will not help.

unless your current system cannont handle the games you are playing,
I would say to wait a few more months. the chip prices will go down,
and ddr2 should be available. i think the current top systems are
adequate for doom3 and HL2, but until those actually come out, you
should not hurry. in the meantime, if your system performance has
dropped, you can possibly give it a tuneup, a defrag, delete garbage,
fresh winders install. etc.

ah, ok, there are the specs. really, to be honest with you,
i would say that if you can't double your system speed, then not
to upgrade. you could do with a larger drive though and better video
card. get a bigger drive and save for a x800/athlon 64 system.
the memory you want to buy when you get your system.

your current system specs are pretty good right now or for awhile. wait until the hardware stats speeding up enough that you will notice a large performance boost. things are moving too fast and changing fast but it's taking too long to get to the market. unless you can sell your current pc, i see no reason for you to uprade anything including your processor. i wouldnt even upgrade your had drive now becuase the new sata spec should be out by this summer or fall and will want that if anything. as far ddr2 goes, it will be over a year before it is widely used due to the lack of performance. i heard they may go right to ddr3 but who knows.

nows not a good time to buy anything. memory prices are high and so are other worth while items. just hold off a tad mre until 3rd qtr which will give you better choices and better prices ;)

your upgrade will only dissapoint you considering the system specs you have now. just tweak your system and fine tune all the things possible. read some of my tips which may help you in the pinned article.
