hey who, didnt realize it was 512mb stick and appears to be same model dimm i am using with no problems. i just pulled the heatsinks off and ck'd. go for it but you need 2 sticks of the same to enable dual ddr for your board.

I just got a 512 meg stick of 2700 from Crucial, my machine likes it a lot more than the 256-2100 I had in it. I paid $140 for it, but prices have been moving a little better than a month ago. Like Bigg sez, I'd make sure it matched up with what I had to enable the dual-channel stuff. It'd be interesting to see some speed marks with the same ram in and out of that mode, I'm sure there are some benchmarks on that somewhere.

no totaly different. it is lowering the virtual memory and making it smaller.

The virtual memory setting is in the Properties of My Computer, click Advanced, Performance, Advanced. You'll see Virtual Memory, click Change to see what is current and to change.
