how can I get a spybot out of my computer when its stuck in the memory? I've used Spybot S&D and it can't remove it. Adaware (while it found some others lol) didn't find the AdRoarPluggin. What do I do guys? Safe mode doesn't work either and running spybot after rebooting still can't touch it.

Try ending the process tree from task manager and then deleting. Hard part is identifying the process name.

My solution is not to visit questionable websites that would contain such spyware. ;)

guys, lookit. I don't download crap, i don't go to dirty sites, and in the past week, I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ABLE TO REALLY USE THE INTERNET. So how would I go about removing a bug that is obviously hurting my virusscan because now I can't even update and of the security services from mcafee i have. no matter how many times i reinstall, it keeps saying there's an error and i should reinstall. Can somebody help me before I go throwing this thing out the window?

Hit Control/Alt/Delete

Click on the processes tab
Look down that list and see if you can find things related to that spyware running. Click on them one at a time and select end process.
Now close out everything and run Spybot. If you got lucky and picked the right program to stop, Spybot should be able to clean up your pc.

It is kind of hit or miss but it has worked for me on a couple other peoples computers.

Companys that do this should be put out of business.
:WTF:

actually slik, mcafee is now rated #1. i would agree with you a year ago but it seems nortons now sucks.

mcafee 8.0 rocks along with spysweeper.

If you have Nortons you can follow there instructions.
Link to Norton's fix (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.adroar.html)

Link to another site if you aren't using Nortons. (http://www.2-spyware.com/parasite-adroar.html)

Bunch more you can look at for fixes. Just do a google search for adroar

Good luck,

Note there was a naughty (very naughty) trojan/spyware called Scob and Berbew lately... it forced Microsoft to release a new security update for Internet Explorer (again :S ) :(
