I've got an idea for a very basic 2D game, basically kind of like an inside joke thing.

Anyway, all of my programming experience is with Unix and GTK. I'm just now starting on my first Windows program. Does anyone know of any good sites or anything?

For the record, C and Python crush C++!

lol, you are a trip man. languages are all the same thing. you wouldn't
say that a hammer rules when you need a screwdriver. they have their
different strengths. the best thing is to be fluent in all of them and to
know how to get things down. i had done some graphics libraries for the
original apple II+ series. that never went anywhere. there are probably
lots of sites out there (google??) but i would suggest browsing the
obsolete book rack in your local store. (or amazon). you can probably
find some old and out of date books about game design that should
work for your purposes. for myself, i prefer sitting and reading a book
as compared to trying to digest information online.

btw, if you are going to be programming for windows, then you have a
huge learning curve ahead....

Well, at least with Gnome or GTK, you get to choose which libraries you want. C, C++, or Python. From what I can tell, I'm stuck with C++ for Windows.

I've already purchased a book, and I'm moving through it. I don't really need a deep understanding of this, I just want to get it done.
