GameMecca 2nd Annual Anniversary Tourny [Archive]

For those that weren't here last year, we gave away a ton of prizes to members on our first anniversary. Each forum member was given a "ticket", we then drew random numbers, and if your ticket was pulled you won a prize. Also, we had a tournament that crossed over 3 games and a whole week. The games last year were Sam SE, Quake III, and UT2003. For the people that won games, we gave extra tickets for them to possibly win stuff. This way everyone was automatically included, but if you participated in the games and won them, you were rewarded.

With our 2nd anniversary only a couple of months away, I'd like to start forming some plans for our annual GM Tourny. What games would you like to see included in this year's tourny?

I don't want to complicate things, but I think it would be cool if we tried some clan matches or maybe smaller matches. I think a spin would be cool, but not entirley necessary! I can't wait.. :)

I think how we did it last year was perfect. so we get sponsors to get prizes. then we have turnys in serious sam, ut2k4, quake, and any other games that people play

We did the donation thing for Xmas last year. For the anniversary tourny we had sponsors, and that's what I hope to do again this year.

As for PK, if they get their act together by then we can include them, but so far I would say no since its not very playable online...but then again they just release 1.3 today so I guess we'll see how that works out.

You play? Its practically unheard of on these forums.
I ocassionally pop into the pup server once in a while.
But you gotta understand that CS is a entirely team based (who's gonna pick the teams) and not that many people that come here actuallyplay CS, i know Sacrifice and Snip3r play and they are damn good.
I'd say have several UT2k4 tourneys (CTF, DM, and ONS) as well as a short ssam tourney. Q3 has been quite dead on GM, i have a copy but i don't play that much .
As SAL said we'd have to see about PK.
I'd also like a movie editing contest. :D

Just for being a member of GameMecca, I'm entered in a drawing...I don't have to be a clan member or have so many posts or anything, I'm just in a drawing purely because I'm a member? You guys ROCK!

Second, out of curiousity, what kind of prizes were there last year (not that it matters - a free prize is a good prize!) :jammin:
