closing a thread

I cannot del my own message, but can close it.

Is this not only for moderators in there own forums?

under the post i could choose for closing after posting. This thread is still open so i think my question is answered.

as a mod i can del&edit in the grimreapers every thread.

Starting a thread even in another forum, there is a thread management.
i can enable these boxes but nothing happens, so why is this option??
