New sound system for Doom3

Well, hearing all this chatter about how good the sounds are in Doom3 and how it will have full support for 6 speaker 5.1 audio has got me thinking that its time to upgrade my old P.O.S. speakers.

So far I've checked out 5.1 to 7.1 speaker systems. My sound card supports up to 7.1 I think. As of today I think I'm leaning towards picking up the Logitech Z-5300 5.1 system which you can pick up on NewEgg for $136.

i've also checked out 5.1 headphones but from the reviews I've read the general consensus is that the technology really isn't there yet to do 5.1 headphones properly.

Anyone have their 2 cents they wanna throw in about PC speaker systems?

I haven't seen a 5.1 system that impressed me enough to buy one yet. That's my 2 cents. ;)

i use creative inspire 5.1 5300 surround speakers

if you can find them they are cheap (they were $100 when i got them and that was a few years ago) you cant beat the value...and dont let the wattage fool you...that sub WILL shake the walls
