well today I bought an Aopen Aeolus Geforce 6800 (non ultra and non GT cuz all GT's were sold out :( ) for 299€

but now im also satisfied with its performance cuz it's gettin over 8000 3dmarks in 3d mark03 (i got 1500 3dmarks on my Geforce 4 Ti4200...lol)

so whats your score?

my spec's are:

787 not 187
I think that he meant that 187 is what his piece of crap computer scored.

Hmm.. I ran it again. I'm assuming I am using the wrong version or settings..

edit: Sorry about the arrow monster thingy, I got a wee bit carried away.. *blushes*

Well actually, sometimes I feel like it's unfair when I play Sam that I have such a good computer compared to some people who have like 1.3 ghz and stuff.. Although, you are your machine, your machine is not you.. :/

EDIT: I would have built my own computer, but my entire family was against it.. I'll show them once I move out! (sarcasm of course)

Why would you feel that way? I remember in my Sam days I could kick ass on dial up. It wouldn't even matter what my computer could handle lol.

(note, that's awesome that you ruled with dialup, I wish I could have seen it!)

C2, are you using the 03' version or an earlier version? And... did you run all of the tests or just a few of them?

i think youŽre using the WRONG graphic's card (cuz the geforce 4 MX is only supporting the features of directx 8.1 as far as i know...well and the 3dmark03 uses the features of directx 9)

so you got that score cuz of your old geforce 4 !MX! :(

maybe you could get like 1000 3dmarks if you select both CPU tests and the sound tests (so your powerful cpu should be able to "emulate" at least some of the directx 9 benchmark tests)
also you should check that your graphic's card and mainboard drivers are installed correctly

maybe you should also get nvidia's latest driver (i think 61.77)
and if you got some knowhow in the BIOS you should check if everythin is right there

ohh well even if youŽre getting like 1000 or like 2000 3dmarks i would recommend you to get a new video card (like a directX 9 video card which has all directx 9 features) if you wanna play doom 3 smooth (over 30fps) on ur computer!

on the first screenie i used the 03 version (same as you used) with default settings (1024*768 res etc [so just like you]...well the settings like they were after running the program the first time)

on the second screenie (over 15000 3dmarks) i used the lowest quality settings just 4 fun

ok i played sam with 56k, 600mhz comp, 192 ram, and geforce2. On yodeller id get 10 frames average.

I just OCed it from 325/700 to 365/760 and already got 800 3d marks more!

well the card should be able to handle 380/850 so i could maybe even reach 10000 but i won't try it with its current cooler!

i only got 5193 :( I'm using a 17.4 lcd though

AMD 64 3500+ @ 2.2 ghz
Abit AV8 K8T800
Dual Channel 1 gb of DDR400
Radeon 9700 pro
80 gb 7200rpm 8mb cache
20 gb 7200rpm 8mb cache
400watt power supply

seems like my score is pretty low for my specs :(

That sounds right for Zell's system. For Mw system you have a 9700 installed when running that test? I find that hard to believe..

It's not so much your cpu as it is your video card. They have overclocked their cards to get such high scores. ;)

holy crap, never seen such a big difference in video card overclocking before

wtf...that score you can only get if you have a cpu with like 4-5 GHZ and a OCed Geforce 6800 Ultra

you should put urself in the futuremark Hall of Fame (http://www.futuremark.com/community/halloffame/)

sure you ran 3dmark03 with default settings?

ok i got 5193 at first. without ocing anything. then i overclocked my video card from 324/310.5 to 346.5/333 (the highest i got it to) and then it was 5537. so how the hell are guys getting like 3000 more than me when my specs are better?

on the first part IŽve to agree...

but on the 2nd part iŽve to disagree...(i think thats why you put a wink smiley behind it)
i get 8200 3d marks with non OCed (standart clock @ 325/700)

with OCed settings im gettin (OCed @ 365/760) like 9000 3d marks

its just a pretty new video card ;)

uhm your score is pretty high for that 2 years old video card...

(a friend of mine gets about 4200 3dmarks with the same card as yours and an athlon xp 2600+...)

its a 3D graphic's benchmark...
=>so the CPU doesn't count that much like slice told ya (like in most 3D games the video card does the most of the work)

well i got an pretty new Geforce 6800 so my score is higher than yours (if youŽd have a geforce 6800 or a radeon x800 youŽd get 9000+ 3d marks for sure!) :)
