We got knocked out in the second round of the National Ladies 8-ball tourney :bawling: but on the bright side vacation started early!!! :D There are a few pics at the tourney I havent gotten from my one of my teammates yet, will post them when I get them, though... The flowers are blown glass and this is just a small section of the Bellagio lobby's ceiling... That's me with a huge plate of crab legs at the Stratospheere buffet which was nasty except for that pretty much. The square rocks are at Red Rocks Canyon... The arch roch is at Valley of Fire National Park, with Camus underneath... The other one is a shot at the Calico Tanks at Red Rocks Canyon, they collect water when it rains (which isn't very often in the desert) and it had rained a couple days earlier so there was still water in them... It was beautiful out there!!

ggz!!! A friend of mine went a few weeks ago and commented on how expensive everything was... the days of free food and drinks while you lose are gone... so how much did you lose?

We were on a very tight budget and some of the people we went with were seasoned vets and told us the best places to go for cheap/free food and drinks... Westward Ho, although pretty small had the best drink buys 99 cent Heineken bottles, 1.99 huge Margaritas (NOT recommended, they are VERY sour), 75 cent Labatt bottles and $3 shots of Cuervo with a bottle of Coors plus they had low limit tables and tons of nickel slots which paid out pretty decently :D ... We only lost about $100 the whole time we were out there... I will say we know where we wil NOT ever stay again out there... Circus Circus (we now call it Chaos Chaos).... Too many screaming children unattended at all hours of the night even... I couldn't imagine how a parent would feel if they lost their child while they were gambling!!!

It was REALLY expensive for a drink at the Stardust, $8.50 for a watery Jack and coke... Mermaids on Fremont Street was #1 for free drinks IMO... You just had to look like you were playing slots and they would bring two drinks at a time... Whee!

Looks like you had a lot of fun despite your teams early loss. Well at least you got a great vacation out of it. :)

Heh, I coulda warned you about Circus Circus. It's basically the biggest "Family Casino" in town, so the place is always friggin nuts.

Besides, who wants to be accosted by a freakin clown when you are trying to enjoy a nice drunk and some gambling???

For a good place to get a drink on the strip, try the FRONT bar at Harrah's. I've never gotten anything but good strong drinks there. I suspect, since it is like 10 paces inside the big open doors there from the sidewalk, they pour strong in the hopes to get you going quickly so you will go drop wads of cash on the tables.

I ordered my favourite drink, a Manhattan, last time I was there. 5 bucks and this one drink damn near put me on the floor. :D
Every drink I've ever gotten from that front bar was poured nice and strong.

They also have LOTS of $5.00 min blackjack tables, which I love. Win a few rounds there, move up to the $25.00 tables, win a couple hundred and head for the door!

Red Rocks canyon is really awesome. I've some great pics from there as well I'll have to dig up. It's a great place to go hiking around in and you can climb all over the place. Find lots and lots of nifty little mini-canyons inbetween some of the huge boulders.

Glad ya had a good time!
