View Full Version : Deathmatching in SS2 - PLEASE put my mind at ease!!

Okay, this may be like old news or known already or whatever, but someone please tell me something: Will there be any deathmatching in SS2?!?!?!

I was just over at SeriousZone and saw these posts by forum admin "Louva-Deus" who appears to be one of the filthy, evil members of Croteam:

The thing is though the style of game that Serious Sam is does not work well in deathmatch style gametypes. The weapons are gruesomely overpowered for that to work very well at all. Ironically enough Serious Sam is all about the story...and then when someone suggests a DM mod for the game...


That wouldn't work either. Serious Sam just isn't that kind of a game that works with anything other than singleplayer and co-op. Someone could make a mod for the game that will better suit that style of play but it would have to be something not sam related at all. So, did I just waste the last three months of my life (yes) trying to get good at a dying game thinking all the while that it'll be revived by the release of SS2 only to have those bastards remove the DM feature completely?!?!?!

Someone PLEASE tell me... and whoever winds up beta-testing that piece of junk please say too!!!

1. Louva at Seriously is not part of Croteam, he's just an admin of their site.
2. Yes, SS2 will have deathmatch. It has been confirmed in our interview with Goran from Croteam.
3. Sam 2 deathmatch will be much better than Sam SE deathmatch. Trust me. :)

It better not be a package deal. I do not want whiners bitching about powerup usage or other crap because imo, thats what killed serious sam..not the netcode. (we could have been playing on a 1.05 gamemecca server where there was better netcode but this is not the case at all)
