download this file http://www.quickbench.mynetcologne.de/Cpumark99.zip

and then post your score:thumbs: (screenie please)

test takes about 30 seconds and dont have anything running when you do it. it will shave points off if you do or move the mouse while running test)

I want to see some P4 scores;)

here is my laptop score--athlon64 3200

i will show score to desktop once i have it running. i know that i score between 250-255 though but i have not had a chance to get the memory i want and really am not happy with the performance of the chip and motherboard or maybe it's just the motherboard. i can't wait until the new boards are out with pci express. via should have them out lat october but i really want the nforce 4 which will not be out to december.

i have noticed that this test uses the 1meg l2 cache better and if you are using a a64 with 1meg cache you will get a boost. my laptop uses mobile athlon 64 3200 with 1mb cache and scores as good as my athlon 64 3500 with 512 l2 cache. my first athlon 64 was a 3200 and that scored in the range of 265-269. although my chip supports the dual channel memory, amd should keep all the chips at 1 meg cache for the extra cache. the problem now is most a64's will have the 512 cache unless you buy the more expensive fx chips which in my eyes are too expensive for the price/performance/time ratio.

i would say if your score is over 100, you are ok to run any application pretty fast. if you have a good video card, with 100 and over you are good for about 1 more year in the gaming world. if you score over 200, you are in good shape for a while. regardless of cpu score, your video card makes a big difference when gaming.

hey frag, mind letting me know what board ya got? the reason i ask is why your score is lower than the system i use to have and now is owned by my brother. i wonder if there is something untweaked in your bios. would love to see ya get 5-10 more points on that.

as far as anyone having things running, thats ok as long as they are not active such as dont worry about the things running in the background. it might shave 1 point off but not a big deal as long as you arent moving mouse during test or clicking on things while test is running.

slice--when are you leaving intel and going for that amd64?:D

never mind then. i hate asus. i currently have the a8v socket 939 and it sucks. i will have to look up the bios settings for you to try. i had built a system with that board also for my brothers friend. it was ok but you must set every setting manually or you will be running the cpu hotter becaus ethe voltage is set too high by defualt. i have to find the settings i had that worked best for that board and i will post them asa i findem.

all in all, you have an asskicking system. thats one good thing about these platforms. you are only a few points from all the systems. also low latency ram is key for these systems. i need to get some myself which holds me back.

Yeah, look at my shoulda been shot last year (thank you for that phrase, Bigg) Celeron go! We're talking 1.7ghz celeron, with a 100 mhz fsb, and 128k cache...the Cream of the Crap! Anyways, the new mobo and cpu should be here thursday, so i'll post my # once I get that running.
