oh, the article is not clear on the vulnerability.
Essentially jpgs can have embedded comments.
Viri writers have found that they can cause buffer overflows
by placing virii in the comments and they can make the internet
explorer jpg engine bomb. all of the microsoft stuff uses it
to show jpgs, so things like outlook and outlook express
can be affected.

seeing how I don't ever see pics like that, i don't particularly care, but seeing how they are exploiting JPEG, whats to stop them from starting web banners, advertisements, ect from having them? where can i get the patch?

web banners are gifs or flash, you can't do animation with jpg, but you have a very good point there. :thumbs:
