hey i know this question might be out of the loop here, but how long abouts, does it take to make a respectable character?

Depends on how persistant you are. I'd say a few months of consistant time getting your toon to 50, artifact grind of choosing/getting the gear you want for your character, and then doing your Master Levels. Just for an example, I have 3 50's, 2 ML10....1 getting there, only 1 is fully geared up with a template and I'm working on the other two, LGM crafter on one, and only one of my toons has a decent RR (realm rank which is the amount of realm points you earn while RvRing) and it's taken me over a year to do.

You can throw together some temporary gear at 50 and get your stats somewhat put together and go RvR (realm versus realm/player vs player) and then do ML's and artifact stuff in between during slow RvR times. Getting your toon to 50 is just the beginning :D
