cancer is a horrible thing, but life must go on, the passing on of a parent is very unfortunate and that parent will always be there with you, in your heart, and the memories that you share are the most important thing, hold on to the good memories, not the bad ones.

Yeah that is a sad thing to have happen to anyone and I wish someday they would find a cure. For those that don't know, Iris is my sister in law and her mother's service was yesterday afternoon. Thanks for the kind words y'all. :)

I don't post much (if at all) here in Off Topic, but I always read what is going on. And I'm heartened by your wishes and prayers.

It wasn't bad. It could have been much worse. I know people who have had a much harder time of it than Mama or we had, and we were blessed that when it hit, it hit hard and fast. I wouldn't have wanted to see her battle this disease in a lessened state for a long time. She went gracefully and peacefully in her sleep, with me & my sister and Mama's sister there with her at the time.

Mama was originally diagnosed with breast cancer April 2002, and it has been an on-again, off-again battle ever since.

Mama's cancer was so aggressive that it probably wouldn't have mattered about early detection and all that stuff they tell you about personal exams every month, but please inform your loved ones, men and women alike, that it's important to be vigilant about cancer.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and your thoughts that are sent to us through the miles. Mama loved that Spike and Shogun are members of the Outlaws and of Gamemecca and she always meant to come to one of the LAN parties but was never able to make it. She would have really liked that y'all have expressed your love and caring for all of us.
